Banco Santander launches its innovation community

Project description

Grupo Santander’s top management promoted the launch of SANTANDERideas:) together with their Internal Communication and HR departments in January 2014, in four languages and for all of the group’s employees. In only one year, Grupo Santander has built an innovation community with more than 25,000 users, where thousands of ideas have been shared and hundreds have been selected through the implementation of three challenges. The platform’s ROI is measured in over 75 projects and more than 50 implemented ideas, some of these in several countries.

‘flexiworking’: reshaping the Future of Work

The idea of one employee in the innovation community has allowed Banco Santander to implement improvements to reconcile work and family, driving employee engagement and productivity. The decalogue of measures ‘Flexiworking’, born of an ideas crowdsourcing proccess validated by the bank top management, applies innovative ideas such as the implementation of a methodology for dynamic meeting sessions to increase productivity, flexible work hours, teleworking and better coverage of client needs. This decalogue of ideas have also contributed to increase the employee engagement and wellfare.

It has been one of the drivers in the bank’s internal transformation.
