RTVE, a collective future for the
Spanish Broadcasting Corporation
70 years of broadcasting make RTVE an undisputed reference as a great audiovisual corporation. Its experience as privileged witness and narrator of recent history in Spain, as well as its standing vocation as a public service, have led the Corporation to place innovation at the forefront of its continuous evolution, hand-in-hand with Spanish society.
Radio Televisión Española, the Spanish national broadcasting corporation, has opened its corporate innovation program to participation from employees in its different territorial divisions, as well as other external agents that collaborate with the corporation, such as startups, university departments and various public institutions. This hybrid model allows the corporation to work with the agility required by a great network, towards its internal transformation goals, with new work models, human resource management and digitization at the forefront. It is also a facilitator for the provision the best possible public service, adapting to the evolution of society and changes in the habits of an increasingly fragmented and volatile audience.
To do so, RTVE’s innovation program is built on the corporate community Innova, open to ideas and co-creation from over 6,800 corporation employees and bringing together the corporation’s strategic challenges for the future, and Impulsa Visión RTVE, which hosts innovation initiatives shared with external agents. Apart from contributing to the transformation of RTVE, the program also has an impact on the cultural change taking place within the organization and is accompanied by the prior detection of internal innovation needs and priorities.

Innova: internal talent on air
Since 2018, the Innova community has allowed RTVE to develop its internal innovation by giving its more than 6,500 employees access to a co-creative environment where they can find answers to the Corporation’s challenges. This channel makes access to innovation more democratic and quicker, above and beyond territorial headquarters, functional areas and hierarchies. It also enables work on corporate values like active listening, intrapreneurship and transparency, while impacting on the corporation’s cultural change and engagement among its employees.
